Senior Radio Communications Consulting
Engineer
Responsible for the successful stewardship
of radio communications projects (HF-800MHz) inclusive of
initial client needs assessment development through system
deployment progress and final implementation acceptance testing
verification. General responsibilities for the successful
candidate would include:
- Inspection and assessment of radio network
infrastructures;
- Field interviews of client radio user
agencies, as necessary, to document existing-system deficiencies,
new-system requirements and identification of agency expectations;
- Documentation development of radio/control
systems;
- RF propagation analysis;
- RF interference resolution;
- FCC channel identification and licensing
activities;
- Ability to translate user needs into a
series of constructible conceptual solutions;
- Ability to properly utilize normal LMR
test equipment such as spectrum analyzer, service monitor,
TDR, oscilloscope, network analyzer, etc.;
- Development of process and evaluation
reports and other technical submittals;
- Oral presentation of findings to client
management personnel, civil service as well as elected officials.

| Position
needs exist in the New Orleans/Covington, Louisiana
and Nashville, Tennessee areas; however, a significant
amount of travel may be required due to project demands.
Mandatory Applicant Requirements:
Candidates for this position must meet
or exceed each of the following requirements:
- Bachelors of Science degree
from an accredited school of electrical or mechanical
engineering;
- Professional Engineer registration
(EIT candidates must complete PE certification within
two years of employment)
- A minimum of ten years of experience
in land mobile radio technology or related field;
- Licensed amateur radio operator
(alternately former armed forces/maritime shipboard/shore
station radio experience);
- Excellent writing and composition
skills;
- References descriptive of entrepreneurial
as well as technical skillsets;
- Clear criminal history/background
verification.
